Green alternatives to PVC payment cards

PVC takes at least 100 years to biodegrade. It may take 1000 years. There are 726 million plastic cards in Europe. The majority of these are PVC. That’s an awful lot of plastic filling up landfills for a very long time.

We’re exploring alternatives to PVC, including a material manufactured in Italy that takes just 40 months to biodegrade. We’re also testing corn-based plastics and recycled PVC products, but the Italian material remains an impressive competitor to PVC. It has been independently certified in line with UNI EN ISO 14855, (determination of the ultimate aerobic biodegradability and disintegration of plastic materials under controlled composting conditions).

From a manufacturing point of view, procedures remain unchanged. So we can offer an environmentally-friendly product that will delight your conscientious customers, while leaving your order-processing unchanged.
